Hard, harder, Punta Veleno!

The organiser calls the Extreme Race Punta Veleno "una delle cronoscalate più dure al mondo" ...

And rightly so! It is considered one of the toughest ascent races in the world. The race course data alone makes for frightened faces:
Course length: 8 km
Difference in altitude: 1,016 Hm
Gradient: 12.7% (average) / middle section 16.5% / peak >20%.

No wonder that only those who have well-trained legs and are used to pain dare to do this.
On Sunday 3 September, after 4 years of abstinence (the last edition was held in 2018), the race could be held again - at the same time as a 10th anniversary.
Among this handful of participating athletes was our newly crowned vice club champion Andreas Kofler, who preferred this race at Lake Garda to a start at the MTB Südtirol Cup in Gsies. He was able to keep up with the best right from the start and reached the finish in Prada Alta with a time of just under 47 minutes - second place in his age group (11th place overall).
