24th Nove Colli 1999

On 23 May, the time had come once again. One of the most difficult road bike marathons in Italy started: the legendary "Nove Colli".

This race has been taking place in Cesenatico, Pantani's home town, for years and is always attended by between 7,000 and 11,000 cyclists from all over Europe.
The challenge is to overcome a difference in altitude of 3,300 metres over 210 km.

Some of our marathon specialists were among the thousands of participants. In addition to many professionals and amateurs, Weiss Werner, Rinner Albert, Paternoster Marcello, Telfner Johann, Todesco Riccardo, Planer Jürgen and our own Rinner Johanna were at the start.
Werner was the best finisher of the race. With a time of 6h28, he was 42nd in the final ranking, with Albert finishing just a few seconds later in 47th place.
Unfortunately, Marcello was not able to finish in the top 100 this year, but he was very satisfied with 124th place and a time of 6h47.
Jürgen, for whom it was his first road bike marathon, was also happy with a time of 8h01 and 930th place.
Johann proved his good form among the hobby cyclists. With a time of 8h14, he was the winner in his category.
On the shorter distance of 130 kilometres, Riccardo finished the race in 243rd place with a time of 4h26.
Johanna, who has already left many men behind her, was also very successful once again. She was able to win her category on the 130 km route and was therefore in 5th place in the final ranking of the female participants.
