VSS/Raiffeisen Youth Trophy in St. Lorenzen/Bruneck

 

The third race of the popular children's MTB race series took place on Monday 1 May in Pustertal: St. Lorenzen was the venue for a cross country race this time.

Despite the forecast rain - which fell throughout the night - it remained mostly dry on race day. The course was muddy and the ground was soggy, but this did not dampen the joy of the kids: the race could take place as planned.

The oldest categories, those of the 13 to 16 year olds, started first in reverse order. Some of our young racers were at the start here as training for the upcoming national races, so to speak, and were able to put this into practice well: be it Johannes Bendetta as well as Jakob Weger won in their age categories. And in the last race of the day, there was also a success on the highest step of the podium in the baby category, with the victory of Max Estfeller.
Our cross-country racers were also able to achieve further good results in the other starts and gain a lot of (racing) experience.

The next race of the series will take place on Saturday 6 May in Hafling, again in the discipline of cross country.
