DBT Training Camp 2006 in Sizilien-Sicilia

Sicily was the destination of this year's training camp 2006.

Packed with bikes and cycling clothes for all weather conditions, 13 Dynamic bikers started early on 25.04.06 in the direction of Verona airport. Arriving in Catania we were unexpectedly hit by the spring-like warmth, which increased more and more during the week. With the transfer shuttle of the tour operator we went to the hotel, which was located near Siracusa, 300 m from the beach. Due to the early start time, we were able to board our bikes around 11 a.m. on the first day and turn the first small round. In the following days we rode guided tours in different groups through hilly, typical landscapes with many orange and lemon trees. Temperatures around 25 degrees spoiled us additionally. After each tour we sunbathed at the hotel pool, some even dared to jump into the cool water. In the evening we strengthened ourselves with a 4-course menu for the next day.

The highlight was the ascent of Mount Etna. At the top, it was better to dress a little warmer for the descent, because a fresh wind and the snow on the roadside quickly drove the stored heat from the bones.

On Saturday evening the 01.05.06 it went then unfortunately already again back. In summary, it was a fantastically beautiful training week with many impressions and experiences, as each of the participants gladly confirmed.
