MTB season finale in Val di Sole

Last race for our youngsters last weekend: it was off to Commezzadura in Val di Sole, just under an hour and a half's drive from Eppan.

Arrival on Saturday with route inspection and lots of fun: Val di Sole is very well known as a biking region and very popular because of its countless trails and the Cross Country World Cup course. Our boys Johannes, Paul and Jakob took advantage of this and spent the whole afternoon on the trails.

Like the race 2 weeks ago, Sunday was a rainy race day: rain overnight and light drizzle in the morning, and the temperatures were noticeably lower than the day before. But this did not dampen the mood, also because it was only cloudy until the start of the first race at 10 am.
The field of participants was quite manageable in size, but nevertheless - since it was the final - with the best athletes from neighbouring Trentino, Veneto and Lombardy.
Johannes and Paul started together due to the merging of the two age groups, and had a small mud battle for 4 laps. Both mastered the technically quite varied course without falling, and finished the race in 16th place in their respective categories.
In the afternoon, Jakob had his last race in the children's category - before he moves to the youth categories next year - and fought his way up to 10th place in an exciting race.
