1st Engadin Cycling Marathon

16/7/2006

The three CHIBA Alpencup cycling marathons 2006 are again a real challenge for experienced marathon riders and for marathon beginners:
- 28.5.2006 13th Amadé Radmarathon in Radstadt (AUT)
- 18.6.2006  2nd Berchtesgadner Land Marathon in Bad Reichenhall (GER)
- 16.7.2006  1st Engadiner Radmarathon in Zernez (SUI)

The Engadin Cycling Marathon leads through the impressive landscapes of the Engadin and over the surrounding passes. It is one of the leading road cycling events in Graubünden. Participants tackle part of the Ofen and Bernina Passes, the Albula Pass and the Flüela Pass.  A special feature is that participants can decide during the race which route they want to complete.

The first Engadin Cycling Marathon took place in 2006. At the premiere, 2,000 starters were allowed. Since the beginning of the cantonal limit of 1,500 participants, the Engadin Cycling Marathon has regularly reached the maximum number of participants.
