Nine Times Up the Mendel Pass

The goal of Everesting is to accumulate as many meters of elevation gain on a single climb until a total of at least 8,848 meters is reached. For Lorenz Röggl, this meant tackling the climb from Eppan to the Mendel Pass a total of nine times.

In the end, his record showed 9,160 meters of elevation gain — exceeding the Everesting requirement by 312 meters.

In total, Lorenz covered 264.64 kilometers. His active ride time was 13 hours and 18 minutes, at an average speed of 19.9 km/h and an average power output of 176 watts.

The challenge also took its toll in terms of energy expenditure: According to Strava, 9,561 calories were burned during the ride.

An Extraordinary Achievement

An Everesting requires not only physical endurance but, above all, mental strength. Conquering the same climb nine times means repeatedly battling the elevation gain over many hours.

For Lorenz Röggl, this special day ultimately ended with a clear result: Everesting accomplished. The odometer read 9,160 meters of elevation gain at the end—an impressive feat and an extraordinary adventure on a road bike.

We at the Dynamic Bike Team Eppan-Appiano warmly congratulate Lorenz on this outstanding achievement!
