Edelrot Trophy Gampenpass-Passo Palade

Quirin Haidl and Julia Jedelhauser also win at the Gampen Pass

Another German one-two finish at the 2026 SouthTyrol.Mountain.Cup
Following their success last month at the summit of the Mendola Pass, Quirin Haidl (born in 2000) and 38-year-old Julia Jedelhauser repeated their feat today at the Gampen Pass (Passo Palade; 1,518m), also triumphing at the Edelrot Trophy, the second round of the circuit reserved for specialists in amateur cycling hill climbs.

There was plenty to celebrate for South Tyrol, with Philip Götsch finishing second overall in the men’s race and Julia Tanner third in the women’s standings.
The 88 riders at the start competed along the 17.7-kilometer course between Lana and Passo Palade, which featured a total elevation gain of 1,204 meters.

The breakaway was decisive, with Haidl leading the pack. The last rider to drop back was Philip Götsch from Merano: at the finish line, 47 seconds separated him from the winner, but there is also a 16-year age gap between the two, in the German’s favor.
Haidl finished the race in 46’31”, with Götsch taking an excellent second place, while Timothy Bonapace from Trentino claimed the lowest step of the podium.
The 1993-born athlete from Renden, a member of the Swatt Club, won the sprint for third place ahead of Austrian Daniel Webhofer. The two finished with gaps of 3’22” and 3’23” respectively, followed closely by Bike Club Egna’s Georg Widmann, who finished fifth at 3’27”.
Also securing a spot in the top 10 were Gianmarco Caresia (sixth) of the Eurotrentina Energia team from Fiemme, and the two riders from Polisportiva Avi Bike, Michael Oberrauch and Thomas Gschnitzer, who finished seventh and ninth.

In the women’s race, however, the pre-race favorite, Julia Jedelhauser - a familiar face to amateur cycling enthusiasts - dominated the field. The German rider posted the 19th-fastest overall time (53’00”) and finished 6’27” ahead of her closest pursuer, the Austrian Julia Sörgel. Third place went to Julia Tanner of the Bike Club Egna from South Tyrol, who finished 9 minutes and 52 seconds behind. Fourth place went to another German, Daniela Kratzer, and fifth place to 50-year-old Annalisa Adami from Trentino.

Unfortunately, the riders from the Dynamic Bike Team were unable to make a significant impact here, but they did show themselves to be in good form. Once again, the fastest of the Dynamic Bikers was Andreas Kofler (59:27.5 min – 2nd place in Master 7), who was the only one of them to finish in under an hour. Behind him were Thomas Grüner (1:00:17.2 – 3rd place in Master 6), Armin Gschnell (1:05:34.6 – 10th in Master 1), Filippo Cassina (1:11:11.0 – 9th in Master 4), and Frank Ansorge (1:19:53.1 – 6th in Master 6).

Now all that remains is the third and final stage of the 2026 Südtirol.Berg.Cup, which will conclude on June 6 on the iconic slopes of the Stelvio Pass climb, where both the stage winners and the overall champions of the circuit - sponsored by the South Tyrolean Committee of the Italian Cycling Federation - will be crowned.
