Car-free cycling day on the Mendel Pass 2025

This year, the "European Mobility Week" took place again – an initiative by the European Commission that has, since 2002, focused on promoting sustainable mobility. Once again, on Saturday, 20th September 2025, the Mendelpassstraße on the South Tyrolean side was closed to motorised traffic. The closure affected the section from the junction at Oberplanitzing up to the summit of the pass.

For cyclists, this meant a clear road and a special experience on this popular route! Our coaching team was well aware of this and called on the club's young riders to join in a group ascent. For many of the younger riders, it was a first-time challenge to conquer the Mendelpass by bike.

At the top, there were not only refreshing drinks, but also exciting prize draws and – as tradition dictates – the "Dynamic Bike finish line photo" to capture this special moment.
