Giro delle Dolomiti 2025 - Cycling the Dolomites

The Giro delle Dolomiti event is presented as a ‘sustainable cycling holiday in South Tyrol, with sport and fun in the heart of the Dolomites’.

Now in its 48th edition, from 21 to 25 July, participants will cycle through the following passes and places of interest, with a short timed climb section (Crono):

  1. Stage: Maria Weissenstein (Crono:  Aldeiner Brücke –> Petersberg          9,50  km |  589 Hm)
  2. Stage: Sellaronda (Crono: Lupo Bianco –> Pordoi Joch          6,7 km |  422 Hm)
  3. Stage: Mendelpass & Gampenpass (Crono:  Eppan/Kalterer Höhe –>  Mendelpass          10 km |  662 Hm)
  4. Stage: Stilfser Joch (Crono:   Trafoi –> Stilfser Joch          13,7 km |  1.183 Hm)
  5. Stage: Seiser Alm (Crono: Infopoint St. Valentin/Seis –> Kompatsch          6,2 km | 530 Hm)

Thanks to Peer.tv sponsoring one of these stages (Stage 3 – Mendel Pass), a few Dynamic Bikers got the chance to join in on this third stage.
Johanna Schweigkofler, Martin Rainer, Manuela Beer, Christian Resch, Armin Gschnell and Egon Perktold didn't need to be asked twice and took part in the stage on the ‘Überetscher Hausberg’ on Wednesday 23 July.
Starting (and finishing) at the Bolzano exhibition grounds, the entire Giro team cycled at a controlled speed to the Mendel Pass road, and shortly after Kalterer Höhe – at the well-known ANAS house – the time measurement began up to the Mendel Pass.
The fastest Dynamic Biker this time was Christian Resch with a time of 31:30 minutes, finishing 20th overall in the stage; this put him in 5th place in the ‘Man D’ category. He was followed (in ascending order of time) by Manuela Beer in 35:43 minutes (2nd place ‘Woman 1’), Armin Gschnell in 36:54 minutes (4th place ‘Man A’), Egon Perktold in 39:49 minutes (5th place ‘Man F’), Martin Rainer in 44:30 minutes (19th place in ‘Man D’) and Johanna Schweigkofler in 1:04:56 hours (7th place in ‘Woman 3’).
