MTB VSS youth race in Brunico/S.Giorgio

Last Saturday, the popular series of races for children made a stop in Val Pusteria:
Two races were held in San Giorgio near Brunico: an Eliminator sprint race and an Easy Down race.

The Eliminator race is a knockout competition, with starting blocks of four children at a time, and only the two fastest qualify for the next round.
In the two “children” categories (7-10 years old), one of our riders reached the final in each: it was the Giuliani brothers, Jakob and Luis, who saved the day and climbed onto the podium with a 3rd place each.

In the afternoon, it was time for the small downhill race, called ‘Easy Down’.
Once again, our young riders performed well. First and foremost were the two Giuliani brothers, who finished first (Jakob) and fourth (Luis).

In the team rankings, things did not look so rosy this time; in the end, they finished in 7th place, which is still a fairly good performance considering the small team of only six children.
