2021 Italian MTB Enduro Championship in Abetone (PT)

Good things come in threes… don’t they?

Following the last two highly successful race weekends in Canazei and Livorno (with a win and a 2nd place), Willy Stricker headed to Abetone in the province of Pistoia, 350 km away, brimming with confidence: the Italian Enduro Championship took place there on Sunday 4 July.
There were five sections to tackle; the track was also very selective – absolutely worthy of a national championship – and precise knowledge of the course was a decisive advantage.

But even during practice it became clear that the field of competitors was very strong; too strong – Willy had almost no chance of making it onto the podium here.
Willy took a lot of risks right from the start, and after five gruelling runs that demanded everything of him, he finished 7th overall in the M5-M6 age group. Our Enduro rider was satisfied nonetheless at the finish line.
