2020 Italian MTB Enduro Championship in Calci (PI)

6/9/2020

The Italian MTB Enduro Championship took place near Pisa on Sunday 6 september. And, of course, our rider Willy Stricker was there. Following the winter weekend in Switzerland (which we’d mentioned) seven days ago, the weather looked promising this time; with summer temperatures, the event was able to go ahead without a hitch.

There were around 180 registered participants, who, over a total of three heats, hurtled down into the valley, navigating rocks and tree roots at high speed. Willy was in good form right from the start and felt comfortable on the course. He would never have believed at the start of the race that he would even make it onto the podium: with a time of 19.56.72 minutes, he won the bronze medal in the Master 5+ category and thus ended this very short competitive season with a big smile.
