Giro delle Dolomiti 2013

The 37th edition of the Giro delle Dolomiti 2013 took participants through the most beautiful — and at the same time most challenging — mountain passes in the Dolomites over the course of an entire week.
Over the course of six stages, riders crossed the Reiterjoch (2,006 m), the Furkel Pass (1,759 m), and the Gardeccia Mountain Hut (1,948 m). There was also a stage finish on the Alpe di Siusi. In six days, the participants covered more than 650 km and climbed 10,500 m in elevation.

While Armin Tschigg and Egon Perktold opted for the short tour (that is, the second half of the week, including Stages 4, 5, and 6), Luca Smaniotto tackled the full tour. Luca performed well throughout the week, finishing the Giro in 47th place overall and 13th in his category. In the short tour, Armin and Egon achieved excellent 10th and 19th-place finishes in the overall standings; in their respective categories, both even made it onto the podium: 3rd place for Armin, and a category victory for Egon!
