4th Dolomiti Superbike 1998 in Niederdorf/Pustertal Valley

At this year’s Dolomiti SuperBike, which has now become a mountain bike classic, the Bruschi brothers triumphed. Not only did they share the various mountain Grand Prix titles, but they also shared the overall victory: Mirko Bruschi of the Diamondblack team won with a time of 4:42:12.4, ahead of Daniele Bruschi with a time of 4:42:12.6. Third place went to Mauro Bettin. The South Tyrolean with the best finish was Hansjörg Lunger. Mirko and Daniele Bruschi, multiple Italian mountain bike champions, left the competition trailing in their wake as they cruised to a comfortable victory. Although the course was more challenging due to the rain over the previous few days, last year’s race record was beaten by a full 17.3 minutes. There was a fine victory in the women’s race for the Swiss rider Erika Beer with a time of 6:21.56.5, ahead of the German Irene Pfab.

The winner of the 59 km short route of the Dolomiti Superbike was local rider Roland Stauder from Sesto with a time of 2:20:40, ahead of Dario Cioni and Massimo De Bertolis. The winner in the women’s category was Annarita Goldin of Team Carraro with a time of 2:55:54, ahead of Nathalie Santer and Monika Schuler.

2,138 riders from 13 countries, including Thai, Polish, Croatian, Czech and British riders, took part in the fourth edition of the Dolomiti Superbike in good weather conditions. The winners particularly praised the excellent preparation of the course, as well as the organisation.
