MendelRace 2025

Philip Götsch repeats his previous year's success with a record time - Julia Sörgel wins the Mendel Pass for the first time

In a tough battle, the meranese rider only pulled away from his rival Franz Wieser in the final kilometre to win the classic race up the Mendel Pass. In the women's race, Austrian mountain biker Julia Sörgel made her mark in her first participation.

The 8th edition of the MendelRace is now history: the amateur bike race on the Mendel Pass also attracted many top athletes from all over the Alps to Eppan in 2025, who competed in an uphill race on the local Überetsch mountain.
Once again, the Dynamic Bikers not only presented themselves as good hosts for a sporting event, but also cut quite a good figure in sporting terms.
Many thanks to all the helpers, the police forces of Eppan and Kaltern, the heads of the municipalities of Eppan, Kaltern and Ruffrè and all the South Tyrolean state institutions. Special thanks also to Matthias from the Hotel Haus am Hang on Lake Kaltern.
And a big thank you, of course, to all the companies that helped to make such an event a success with their support:

The race was dominated by the two South Tyroleans Philip Götsch (Dorf Tirol) and Franz Wieser (Gadertal), with Götsch ultimately winning the race in a new record time, repeating his victory from the previous year. Behind Wieser in third place was last year's runner-up and Austrian national champion Rene Pammer, ahead of his compatriot and team-mate Christian Oberngruber.
In the women's race, Julia Sörgel from Reutten celebrated a never-threatened start-finish victory; behind her, the strong Carmen Moser from Sarnen finished in 2nd place ahead of Evi Gudelius from Germany.
